Back to the bookshops in Mombasa – that were closed for lunch last time we tried, Successfully spent nearly £1000 on text books thanks to Dan and Katrina’s wedding guests. It took 3 hours but we were supplied with coconut water and conversations on Imran Khan’s time as a Sussex cricket player!. Back at school we did more volumes of prisms- using some the girders from the new roof as examples, Then singing again, ready for Thursday’s prayer day with grade 8. Karyn did a session on phonics with the lower primary teachers. – they will soon be speaking the Queen’s English!

Students from Aga Khan Academy – Global Encounters Project, have been working with Unity School children on Music, Dance, Art, Drama, Public Speaking and, of course, football. Not many of these subjects are on the curriculum and resources so limited. On Monday they will showcase all that our pupils have achieved.

Christmas Lunch in the Orphanage
An important aspect of our responsibilities is to check that that money given for our work in Mombasa is actually spent as we intended. In the next few weeks three trustees will be visiting Mombasa.

Thirty six people sat down to an excellent Curry Night at Monsoon’s Restaurant in Rustington. By the end of the evening, they had raised £750 for the Charities work in Mombasa. Well done everyone.
